Dr. Montalbo completed his Doctorate in Information Technology with the highest honors at Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila. He actively contributes to Artificial Intelligence (AI) research, particularly deep learning, through publications in top-tier international journals and conference presentations.

Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor & Research Scientist at Batangas State University, mentoring researchers and fostering collaborative learning. He is also a peer reviewer for Elsevier, Springer, ACM, Taylor & Francis, PLOS ONE, Wiley, IEEE, Frontiers Media, and Hindawi.

Additionally, Dr. Montalbo contributes as an Associate Editor for a university-based research journal in the Philippines.
